Legendary Leica IIIc, made in 1950, along with the standard 50mm f/3.5 Elmar lens, made in 1949; these two might have been sold together when new
- Good cosmetic condition though showing some plating spots,
some minor abrasions from age, and previous denting to the front of the lens panel - This has been recently serviced, with new blinds, and we offer our 3 month warranty
- The viewfinder and rangefinder windows are fabulously bright (for such an old camera)
though the secondary rangefinder image is not as bright as one could ideally hope for - The lens optics are coated and look clean and clear to the naked eye.
- Closer inspection (through a high power loupe) reveals minor superficial scratches and marks.
- Rangefinder connection works perfectly.
- The front panel shows obvious signs of a previous drop with a straightening process having been applied at some stage.
- The panel rotates and a previous attempt at holding the panel in place (with epoxy glue) has been unsuccessful.
- The apertures work fine, if you start with the lens wide open at f/3.5 then you can rotate the aperture control to wherever you choose.
