Large Houghton Butcher Ensign Film Reflex Camera & Aldis 6″ Lens

• Fair condition early reflex camera, more for show than use
• Missing the front top badge (possibly would have said “Houghton, Butcher or Ensign”)
• 1/4 Plate camera, though may well be able to fit a 6x9cm Rollfilm Back
• Dating to c. 1910-20, so definitely an antique.
• The baseboard is wood, with a black morocco leather finish
• Comes with folding viewfinder at top, folding sunshade over the lens, & folding viewing shade at rear for the ground glass screen
• Focusing is good and smooth, shutter can be primed and fired but requires two releases of the shutter button to complete the passing of both curtains (one to open, one to close)
• Shutter curtains show wrinkles, as shown
• Lens is generally clean and clear, not coated of course, and shows a little haze internally
• Comes as shown with free shipping in the UK
