- Fascinating old Fuji-Kogaku Japanese folder, dating from 1936-’40
- Though called the Lyra, this is referred to as a ‘Semi-Lyra’ by McKeown
(& others?) as it uses the 6×4.5 format for 16-on picture making - According to Sylvain Halgand, this is the first / original version from 1936,
as he shows a 2nd version (from ’37 onwards) with revised shutter button placement &etc. - Comes with vintage leather case which likely was not made by Fuji (no marking on it)
- Exterior cosmetics are poor, rust is evident on some panels, external leatherette
panels are incomplete (in parts) - Mechanically, this is isn’t too bad! Front opens readily, shutter cocks and fires at
all speeds. Wind on is smooth, rear opens readily. Aperture closes down smoothly,
to f/32. Bellows look a little creased but no obvious holes or repairs - Picco shutter (not noted elsewhere), 3 speeds: 1/25, 1/50, 1/100th sec. B & T
- Optically, the lens looks in good, not immaculate, order. External surfaces are
clean and scratch free, internally there is some dust (potential fungus though
I don’t think so) but it should be easily cleanable, presumably this is a triplet
with front focusing cell - The viewfinder glass is clear and not marked
- There is no electronic flash circuit
- Comes with leather case as shown and old film, exposed
Ilford FP3, unprocessed! - Free UK postage
