- Good cosmetic condition classic Pentax SLR
- Fully tested & working as it should
- Light meter is working with new 394 silver battery included
- Some people will tell you that Wein cells or 1.4v batteries are required, sadly they don’t know what they’re talking about. This Pentax (and many other cameras) uses an electrical circuit known as a ‘Wheatstone Bridge’ (named after the designer). The needle in the viewfinder displays a voltage, positive/up or negative/down. It does not matter if the voltage is 1.55v (modern alkaline, when new), 1.4 (zinc-air), 1.35v (old mercury) or 1v (any battery losing power…) the needle will move more or less (depending on voltage) but is in the ‘right’ position when the voltage is ‘nullified’, i.e. in the middle. Cameras that need specific voltage are those where a needle points to a number on a scale.
