  • Topcon R 35mm SLR
  • This was the first model of Topcon SLR made, dating from 1957-60, before Canon and Nikon started making their SLRs!
  • This has been subject to external corrosion, as shown
  • Little cosmetic wear, as such
  • This works, but not well
  • Shutter fires on all speeds but does not always complete, sometimes the blinds are left open, usually they close
  • Mirror usually returns down, sometimes stays up
  • Mirror shows surface marks from cleaning
  • Comes with the prism finder, view through that is clear a minor ding is on the (metal) prism top
  • (Waist level finders were also available)
  • Takes Exakta mount lenses (not all)
  • Lens is the well regarded 5.8cm (58mm) f/1.8 with semi-automatic diaphragm, clean and clear, no visible fungus, front and rear surfaces look unscratched, very minor coating wear. Focus is firm, apertures work well
  • Frame counter working
  • Viewfinder is bright, but shows much dust and a minor stain
  • Baseplate has had three screws removed & suffers a ding on one side, remaining screw looks worn
  • Comes as shown with free shipping in the UK
